About St John’s Hawera
St John's is a church that has a vision to 'Honour God, Nurture, Disciple and Send out'. It is a church passionate about equipping its people for the works of God, so to bring the manifest Kingdom of God here on earth. As scripture reminds us, 'Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven'
It is a church that believes the Word of God is the power for transforming lives for the Kingdom of God, and anyone, young and old who so desires to know this God can experience Him through a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Learning about the different gifts and then recognising them in yourself and others is just the beginning of the fun God has in store for a dynamic fulfilling life in Christ. God delights in us and He has bestowed various gifts to all. St John’s wants to see you delighted and lifted up as you grow and deepen your relationship with God through the journey of realising the spiritual gifting in you.
Staff
John Wilkie - Minister

Hi there, ever heard the saying life’s too short to drink bad coffee, it is also too short to be wishing our lives were different. We can’t change our past but we can choose our future.
Living the Christian faith, learning about His Kingdom and helping make it a reality in the lives of people is why I do what I do. I’m passionate about the Word and equipping people in their gift/s, and helping people begin a fun and dynamic, fulfilling life in Christ.
I’m married to Lorraine and have four great children, Jessica, Sean, Liam and Joel, and five beautiful grandchildren.
Wayne Ogden - Assistant Pastor

Hi, I’m Wayne and pastoral matters are my motivation. Being available to listen, nurture and walk along side people, encouraging their journey with Jesus is what I enjoy.
From a young adult I have been part of the life of St John’s and now serve as the Assistant Pastor.
I am married to my beautiful wife Cathy and we have 3 children, Jack, Jemma and Ella.
Youth Pastor
We are currently recruiting a new Youth Pastor
Suzanne Hokopaura - Administrator

Helping people is my passion and while not a born administrator serving God in this role has been an interesting and rewarding time. Having a sense of humour has definitely helped me (and others I’m sure).
I’m married to Peter with 5 awesome children who have all left the nest and two beautiful granddaughters.
Being part of St John’s family has been an important part of my life, helping me through grief, sickness and being there to celebrate all the joys that life brings.
